Trauma Informed Coaching

By and for Neurodivergent Brains

I work with autistic and ADHD adults who are done with non-inclusive advice, programs, theories, and models. You've tried the planners, the morning routines, the apps, the motivational frameworks, all the advice about how to "do" socializing or fit into a group. Some of it helped for awhile, but (if you're like me), most of it assumed a brain and nervous system that works differently than yours does.

Perhaps you ended up feeling shame or like you're broken and don't fit in anywhere.

I coach through the lens of neurodivergence, because my brain is wired differently and I have had those kinds of lived experiences many of us share.

I am also provisionally certified in The Community Resilience Model (CRM)®, which is a body-based, skills-focused approach to nervous system regulation. I had adapted approaches from CRM and polyvagal theory specifically to be inclusive for neurodivergent brains (such as those with limited interoception and/or alexithymia) and drop aspects of PVT not supported by science. You can read more about my credentials and background here.

We work as partners with what your body and mind is actually doing, and you leave with something you can use that same day.

I'm currently completing my ICF coaching certification through a Trauma Informed Certified Coaching Level 2 program. That means I'm in my supervised practice hours. I'm transparent about this because you should know exactly where I am in the process. Sessions are offered at a reduced rate during this phase. The coaching is real though and you're working with someone who is building this practice with care and intention.

Who This Is For

You might be a good fit for this if some of this sounds familiar.

You figured out you're autistic or ADHD in adulthood, or otherwise wired differently, and you're still sorting out what that means for how you live and work and "fit" socially or professionally. You've spent years accommodating everyone else's needs and you're running out of capacity to keep doing that. Perhaps burnout has become your baseline mode, or maybe you're stuck in a kind of low-grade perpetual disconnect where you can see what needs to happen but your body or mind just won't cooperate.

Maybe you've done therapy and found it useful for understanding your history, or collecting ideas, but you want something a bit more forward-facing. Something focused on what you're building now, with tools that actually account for the way your nervous system responds to stress, transitions, and sensory load. Maybe you're looking for a different way to be seen and heard.

You don't need a formal diagnosis to work with me. Self-identification is valid and I don't require paperwork or any kind of disclosure. Only share what you're comfortable sharing. You also don't need to identify as neurodivergent, I can certainly work with you if you're wired typical, too.

If you're currently in crisis or need clinical mental health support, coaching isn't the right fit right now. There are options available, and there might be a good fit found on this page.

What to Expect

Sessions

1:1 video calls on Zoom for 40 minutes (I'll send you the link when you book). Sliding scale.

Approach

Using the ICF Coaching Model, with a trauma informed and neurodivergent lens. I do not solve your problems, but ask focused questions to help you find your own answers and path forward. Coaching is a partnership and goals oriented and forward-focused. We work on where you are now and where you want to go.

Pace

One-time sessions available now, or we can talk if you are interested in something more regular as I work my way towards full certification.

Coaching vs. Therapy

Coaching focuses on the present and where you want to go. I won't ask you to process past trauma or provide a clinical assessment. If something comes up that needs clinical support, I'll be honest about that and help you find the right person.

Pricing

Session Rate

Sliding scale $5-$20 per session during the ICF practice hours phase. This is a reduced rate while I complete my ACC certification. Payment is collected through Stripe when you book.

Cancellation Policy

Cancel or reschedule with at least 24 hours notice. Late cancellations are charged the full session rate. I know things come up, dynamic disability exists, so if you're having a rough day, just let me know and we'll make it work. I'd rather reschedule than have you push through a session you're not in a state for.

Book a Session

Pick a time that works. You'll review and accept the coaching agreement as part of the booking process and get a Zoom link by email after you book.

Select your pricing tier to book a session:

Coaching Agreement

The coaching agreement covers what you can expect from sessions, confidentiality, cancellation, and the boundaries of what coaching is and isn't. You'll accept it as part of the booking process.

If you want to read it before you book, you can find the agreement here

Questions

Do I need a diagnosis to work with you?

No, self-identification is valid. I don't require any documentation, and you only disclose whatever you are comfortable sharing. You do not need to identify as neurodivergent to work with me, either.

What is the Coaching?

Coaching is a partnership between Coach and Client in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires the Client to maximize personal and professional potential. It is designed to facilitate the creation and development of personal, professional, or business goals and to develop and carry out a strategy or plan for achieving those goals.

Coaching is forward-focused. We work on where you are now and where you want to go.

What is the Community Resilience Model?

CRM is a skills-based approach to nervous system regulation developed by the Trauma Resource Institute. It focuses on your body's built-in ability to return to a regulated state, using six core skills: Tracking, Resourcing, Grounding, Gesturing, Help Now!, and Shift and Stay. I am not using CRM skills during our coaching calls, but it is something I am provisionally certified in and can bring that awareness to sessions.

How is this different from therapy?

Therapy often focuses on understanding and processing what happened. Coaching focuses on what you're doing now and where you want to go. If something comes up that needs clinical support, or is otherwise beyond my scope of practice, I'll let you know.

What happens in a first session?

We spend some time on what brought you here and what you're hoping to work on. By the end of the session you'll have a sense of whether this approach works for how your brain and body operate, and some clarity on how to more forward with at least some of your goal.

What if I'm in crisis?

Coaching isn't crisis support. If you're in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact resources at this page. I'm happy to talk about whether coaching is a good fit once you have the support you need.

Is this covered by insurance?

I can't bill insurance directly. Some extended health plans cover coaching, so it's worth checking with your provider. You receive receipts from Stripe when booking for your records.
